The revised edition of Things I Want to Punch in the Face will be hitting stores soon and so too will I, hosting punch parties and readings. Here’s where you can find me:
October 5, 7–8pm | Park Road Books
I’m taking the show on the road and I can’t wait to visit Charlotte’s favorite bookstore for a lively evening of PITF readings! Bring your own rants to share and get ready to play a fun trivia game!
October 15, 7–9pm | Family Matters: Works in Progress
Hugo House, Seattle, WA
We’re baaccckkk! It’s another rollicking night of family dysfunction, but this time it’s outside your home! Join me and four other local writers—Allison Ellis, Jane Hodges, Kristine Lloyd, and Brian McGuigan—as we read brand-spanking-new creative nonfiction, all centering around various ideas of family. Be the first to hear memoirs and personal essays as they develop and take shape. (I’ll be reading a new chapter from “There Must Be Some Misunderstanding: A True Story of Double Ds, Straight As & a Whole Lot of BS,” a coming-of-age memoir.) If that’s not awesome enough, force of nature/world traveler Nicole Hardy (Confessions of a Latter-Day Virgin) will emcee the event. The event is free and the bar will be open serving beer, wine, and maybe even a special cocktail cooked up for the evening.
February 11–15, 2016 | San Miguel Writers Conference
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
Kerry and I are thrilled to be teaching abroad next year! Join us at the San Miguel Writers Conference, which has a killer lineup of faculty.
